Today we kicked off the very first MINA-trial hands-on training at Amsterdam UMC! Under the guidance of Gino Kerkhoffs, Lars Steenbekkers and the Arthrex team (Martin Van Trijffel & Steven Hartman) a group of motivated residents and researchers were trained in the principles and techniques of Minimally Invasive Needle Arthroscopy (MINA) – preparing them for participation in the trial.

In this upcoming multicenter RCT, we will compare the (cost-)effectiveness of MINA versus conventional arthroscopy for treating bacterial knee arthritis. This study is fully funded by ZonMw.

A successful and interactive morning – a great first step for this exciting trial!
